Sentyment vs. Awario: $49/mo Keyword Monitoring or $29/mo Comment Analysis

25 Sep 20269 min read

What is the difference between Sentyment and Awario?

Awario is a social listening tool: you give it a topic made up of keywords, and it collects public mentions of them across Reddit, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, news sites, blogs, forums, and the wider web. Sentyment is a comment-analysis tool. You paste the URL of one post, video, or thread, and it reads the comments underneath, then returns a sentiment and emotion breakdown with the quotes behind each score.

Sentyment vs. Awario at a glance

The headline prices look closer than they are. Sentyment is $29 a month, month to month. Awario is $49 a month, and reaches $29 only on an annual plan.

How much does Awario cost?

Awario starts at USD $49 per month on the Starter plan, which covers 3 topics, 30,000 new mentions a month, 5,000 stored mentions per topic, and one team member. Committing to a year drops that to $29 a month. There is no free plan, only a 7-day trial at Starter level with no card required. Awario prices in your local currency and publishes no USD price list, so treat these figures as indicative and confirm at awario.com/pricing before you buy.

PlanMonthlyAnnual (per mo)TopicsNew mentions / moStored per topicTeam
Starter$49$29330,0005,0001
Pro$149$8915300,00015,00010
Enterprise--1001,000,00050,000Unlimited

Awario is generous on keywords and strict on almost everything else:

  • Topics are the cap, not keywords. Every plan gets unlimited keywords per topic, so one topic can hold a brand name and every misspelling of it. But your brand, two competitors, and a category term is 4 topics, one more than Starter allows.
  • The stored-mention cap is per topic rather than a rolling window. When a topic fills up, Awario pauses collection for 24 hours, then starts replacing your oldest mentions with new ones. Starred mentions survive that.
  • Awario's plan table ticks data export on all three tiers, but the FAQ further down the same page says the export option is available to Pro and Enterprise users. Worth clarifying before you buy Starter for the export.
  • TikTok is not one of Awario's monitored channels.
  • Awario does not publish USD prices. The figures above convert cleanly from the live AUD prices for Starter and Pro, but not for Enterprise, which is why those two cells are blank.

How much does Sentyment cost?

Sentyment costs USD $29 a month for 300 credits on Standard, or $79 for 1,000 on Pro, billed month to month with no annual commitment. There is also a permanent free plan: 20 credits, no card. A credit is spent per analysis rather than per seat, so adding a colleague costs nothing, and unused credits roll over for up to a month. Full details are on the pricing page.

What does $29 a month buy in each tool?

In Awario, $29 a month buys a Starter plan on an annual commitment: 3 topics, 30,000 new mentions a month, and an alert when one of those topics moves. In Sentyment, the same $29 buys 300 credits a month with no commitment, which is 300 Reddit or YouTube threads, or 60 Instagram posts, read comment by comment. Awario month to month is $49, so the two are only level if you sign for a year.

Take a week where your product is getting a hard time on Reddit. Awario is what tells you it is happening: volume is up, here are the subreddits, here is the sentiment split across every mention it caught, and here is the alert that woke you up. Sentyment is what you open next. The three threads doing the damage cost 3 credits, the two YouTube videos piling on cost 2, and you get back what people actually wrote, sorted by sentiment, with the quotes ready to paste into a deck.

Neither substitutes for the other. Awario keeps watching after you close the tab. Sentyment stops. One buys coverage, the other buys depth, and they are not priced against each other so much as against two different problems.

Does Awario analyse YouTube and Instagram comments?

Awario does not read a comment section the way a comment-analysis tool does. Its YouTube page describes the monitoring as scraping "channel names, video and channel descriptions", and Awario describes YouTube tracking elsewhere as keyword matching in video titles and descriptions. Comments do reach the feed, and Awario offers to sort "videos and comments on YouTube" by reach. They arrive as scattered keyword hits, though, not as the comments under a video you chose. Reddit works the same way: the monitoring engine "checks posts across all public subreddits".

Instagram is narrower again, and the limitation is structural rather than a matter of depth. Collection is hashtag-based and runs through an Instagram Business or Creator account that you connect and that is linked to a Facebook business page. Facebook works the same way: Pages you connect, with no groups, no promoted content, and no direct messages. Because the route runs through your own account, it cannot reach a post that belongs to someone else. A competitor's launch post is outside it by design.

Sentyment starts from the post instead. You paste a URL, and it reads the comments under that specific video, thread, or post, up to 250 per URL on the Free plan. Nothing to connect, no account to own, and it works on anyone's public post.

How accurate is each tool's sentiment analysis?

Every vendor in this category marks its own homework, so treat all of these numbers the same way. Sentyment publishes 93% classification accuracy on a labelled benchmark, Awario puts its sentiment accuracy at just over 70% and says no language it has tested falls below 65%, and Brand24 claims up to 95% as macro-F1 on its own set of 50,000 mentions. None of those test sets is public, so the three figures are not measuring the same thing and cannot be ranked against each other.

What matters more is what you can check. Awario lets you correct a mention's sentiment by hand once you catch a bad call. Sentyment shows every sentiment and emotion result next to the comments that produced it, so a misread stays visible in the report instead of disappearing into an average. Sarcasm still defeats automated sentiment in every tool on the market, ours included. The useful difference is whether a tool puts the evidence in front of you or asks you to take the score on trust.

Who should actually use Awario?

Awario is the better choice when you need to know where a name is turning up across the internet, and it does that at the cheapest published price in the category. It is a good fit for:

  • Teams that want continuous, always-on monitoring of the whole web at the lowest published price going
  • Anyone who needs news sites, blogs, forums, and review sites covered alongside the social platforms
  • Users with complicated queries, since Boolean search and unlimited keywords per topic are on every plan, Starter included
  • Agencies that need white-label PDF reports, which Awario lists on all three tiers
  • Teams that want API access without paying for it as a separate add-on
  • Anyone tracking sentiment and share of voice as a trend over months
  • Teams that need a stored record of mentions to look back on, which Sentyment does not keep

Who should actually use Sentyment?

Sentyment is the better choice when you already know which conversation matters and you need the comments themselves as evidence:

  • Anyone who needs to read a post that belongs to someone else, which Awario's Instagram and Facebook routes structurally cannot reach
  • Teams that work in TikTok comments, which Awario does not monitor at all
  • Researchers and founders who want to start free and pay per analysis rather than commit to a year
  • Brands vetting a creator's real audience before sponsoring them, from comments rather than follower counts
  • Anyone who has to show a stakeholder the evidence, not just the score

Where it stops is worth being blunt about. Sentyment does not monitor anything: there are no alerts, no always-on collection, and no stored archive to look back through, so it will never be the thing that tells you a problem started. It reads the six social platforms and nothing else, so news articles, blogs, podcasts, and review sites are outside it entirely. The Free plan caps each URL at 250 comments, and 300 credits a month is a real ceiling, not a soft one. Every job above assumes you already know which URL to paste.

Can you use Awario and Sentyment together?

Yes. Awario tells you a conversation is happening and roughly how big it is; Sentyment reads the threads it flags. Both sit at the cheap end of their categories, so running the pair costs less than a single seat on most enterprise suites. The division of labour is the detection-versus-diagnosis split covered in Sentiment Analysis vs. Social Listening.

Frequently asked questions

Does Awario have a free plan?

No. Awario offers a 7-day free trial with Starter features and no credit card required, and it keeps your trial data for 14 days after the trial ends. Sentyment has a permanent free plan with 20 credits per month.

Is Awario cheaper than Brand24?

Substantially. Awario Starter is USD $49 per month, or $29 billed annually, against Brand24 Individual at $249 per month, or $199 billed annually. They are not identical products, and the gap partly reflects Brand24’s broader source list, which adds podcasts, newsletters, and reviews. Note that Brand24 Individual updates every 12 hours, so the cheaper tool is not the slower one here. See Sentyment vs. Brand24 for how that plan compares.

Does Awario monitor TikTok?

No. Awario's monitored channels are Reddit, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, news, blogs, forums, and the web. Sentyment analyses the comments on a TikTok post URL for 5 credits.

Who makes Awario?

Awario grew out of SEO PowerSuite, the toolset from Link-Assistant.Com. Awario's own about page describes it as a project that branched off another product by the same company. It now runs as its own product, and its terms name TechFusion Ltd, registered in Cyprus, as the operating entity.

Can Awario analyse the comments on one specific Reddit thread?

Awario checks posts across all public subreddits for your keywords, so it will surface threads where your keyword appears. It is not built to take a single thread and read its comment section end to end. Sentyment does that from the thread URL for 1 credit, and returns the sentiment and emotion split with the comments behind each score.

Conclusion

Awario and Sentyment land at similar prices and answer different questions. Awario, at $49 a month or $29 on an annual plan, answers "where is this keyword turning up across the web, and is that changing?" Sentyment, free or $29 a month with no commitment, answers "what did the people under this post actually say?" with the comments as the evidence. Awario is the better first purchase when you do not yet know where the conversation is. Sentyment is the better one when you already do.
